Our Story

How We
Began

Uncharted Travels was founded in 2010 by a group of Lahore-based historians, archaeologists, and travel professionals who shared a single frustration: Pakistan's remarkable heritage was invisible to the world.

The country held six UNESCO World Heritage Sites, one of the world's oldest urban civilisations, the finest Mughal architecture outside the Taj Mahal, and a Buddhist heritage of staggering depth — yet international tourism to historical sites was negligible.

We began with a single Taxila day tour for a group of foreign diplomats based in Islamabad. Word spread. Within two years we were operating full heritage circuits across Punjab, KPK, and Sindh. Today we are Pakistan's most comprehensive heritage travel company.

2010
Founded in Islamabad
First heritage tour to Taxila for a group of foreign diplomats. The founding team: three historians and one travel logistics expert.
2013
Punjab & Sindh Circuits
Expanded to full multi-day circuits covering Lahore, Mohenjo-daro, and Makli Necropolis.
2016
KPK & Gandhara Programme
Launched the Gandhara Buddhist Trail — our most popular heritage route. First to receive PTDC recognition.
2019
All-Pakistan UNESCO Circuit
Became the first operator to offer a single journey visiting all six of Pakistan's UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
2022
Gilgit-Baltistan Expansion
Added Hunza, Baltit Fort, Chilas Rock Art, and the full Karakoram Highway to our programme.
2025
8,000 Travellers Milestone
